Fan Art Up is originally inspired by FanArt Friday which is a phrase you may have heard before. It’s been around for I don’t know how long. So I started this linkup meme as I haven’t seen one around the book blogging sphere and I thought it would be oodles of fun to get us book loving folks into the mix.
Fan Art Up is a weekly meme hosted by Tabitha @ Not Yet Read. It is dedicated to showcasing our Fan Art inspired by entertainment media, whether it’s Books, Movies, Anime, Comics, etc. Spread those peacock feathers for us!
Everyone is welcome to participate as long as you follow the rules on the Fan Art Up main page

This week’s art was inspired by the book THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL by Soman Chainani. Both my sister Richelle @ Dollusions and I loved this book and since she is a professional art doll artist I commissioned her to make me my very own Sophie and Agatha dolls! She completely hand sculpts these, makes the clothes, creates the wigs, and their heads even move! I can’t believe how amazing they are. She even made tiny little school books for them! I’m not quite as impressive as she is and just did a little sketch instead.

Alright folks link up and lets see what you’ve done! Remember to link back to this post!

Those are awesome dolls of Sophie and Agatha! How come you’ve never showed me pics of these before?!

(And I love the look of some of the ones on her Etsy store! Creepy and whimsical…)

She only recently gave them to me like two days ago – she’d show me on webcam but hadn’t taken ‘good’ photos yet! And I figured save them for the interview reveal.

That is gorgeous! I really like the Tim Burton vibe 😀 I also like the arrogant look on Sophie’s face and how Agatha looks more curious; exactly how I pictured them! Great work.

Yes! She gave Agatha ‘wider bug eyes’ like she was described in the book and she wanted Sophie to look a bit devious. I think she pulled it off rather well.

Jessica @ Rabid Reads
You know how amazing I think the dolls both you (YES, you) and your sister make, but these are just . . . WOW. SO beautiful 😉

Thanks Jessica! I was pretty happy/pleased with the doll I made recently. I still don’t feel like I”ll ever be anywhere near Richelle’s caliber of doll making but then I’m too freaking lazy to put that much work into it. She loves it though and hey – I can always have one of her dolls instead of making my own. *lazy to the max*
I’m so glad these girls are mine all mine! My friend asked “but aren’t you giving them to the author?” and I was like HELL NO – these girls are mine!!

I’m extremely happy with the way these dolls came out. I adore the books and wanted to do the girls justice. No pressure, no pressure! Plenty O pressure when Pabkins is a whip crackin perfectionist, but that may run in the family too. 🙂
Tabitha (Pabkins)
You did them marvelous justice! I can’t believe how gorgeous they turned out!

OMG! I can’t believe your sister made those, she’s so freaking talented. They are perfect. I love them both, but Agatha is my favorite, she’s just how I picture her.

I agree, Agatha is my favorite as well. But then I love dark haired characters! She is so haunting and lovely!

Rhissanna
I love Richelle’s dolls and these two are a real treat. That ombre silk skirt. Those ruffles and bows. The books! The books are exquisite pieces of miniaturist’s art. And your sketch echoes their design beautifully, as if the dolls and the drawing were supposed to be together.
Tabitha (Pabkins)
Thanks Rhissanna – those dolls are so lovely and I can’t believe how beautiful their clothes are – well just how amazing everything is. She said those miniature books were such a pain to make – but they have real pages inside them! So glad you enjoyed seeing them.
