Someone you love is dying and you have the chance to to save them. But you must enter yourself into a deadly race in order to win a cure.
Victoria Scott joins me today for a really quick interview – be sure to let us know what sort of Pandora you’d be!

Victoria, Victoria… *shines the hot light in your direction* – you’ve no idea what you’ve gotten yourself in for. *cackles madly* But yes, thank you so much for joining us today.
No, no. Thank YOU!
Its been a few weeks now since your release of Fire & Flood and hopefully things have calmed down for you a bit, or maybe hopefully they are still hectic and keeping you pumped up – whichever floats your boat =). I think my brain is about to implode trying to figure out a few questions that others might may not have asked you already!! But here goes!
*Jim Carry/Ace Ventura impersonation* Alrighty then!! So we know about your pandoras and that they are creatures that are meant to help each contestant make it thru the Brimstone Bleed…accompanied with powers. BUT – what if YOU were the critter!? What would you be?
Me? Oh, man. I’d be something that could fly. There are some evil-minded people running the Brimstone Bleed, and I’d like the option of scramming at a moment’s notice, if you know what I mean. Not that’d I’d leave my Contender in the lurch…but, yeah…I’d leave my Contender in the lurch.
Lets go with this! Have you a playlist of music that you listened to a bunch while writing or are you a “I can’t be distracted when working” type? *tempts you with delicious cookies for such a list because I always need more music*
I definitely listen to music when I’m writing a high-energy, high-stakes scene. My assistant even made an incredible play list for Fire & Flood that Scholastic posted on their site. Click Here to see the playlist!
Hobbies – what are your other hobbies!? Besides being a slave to writing?…*cracks the whip for the next book* I’m a bit all over the board I pick up hobbies like loose change. Painting and Crochet are my current ones. My home office is a veritable graveyard of craft supplies.
*cowers from The Whip* I love interior design, especially finding old, eclectic items from antique stores or estate sales that I can work into my house. I’ve also recently gotten into gardening.
I’m going to cheat here and say what is a burning question that you WISH someone would ask but that hasn’t already!!? *shrugs* what can I say I’m having a somewhat uninspired day…or maybe I’m just boring…I blame the allergy meds for turning me into a zombie and my brain to goo.
Ooh, right now I’d wish someone would ask me what I want for dinner. I’ll give you the answer–Popeye’s. That’s right. Greasy, cheap, unclassy Popeye’s. Give me the chicken and no one gets hurt.
Of course you know, unless you hadn’t guessed already…secrets – I need secrets! The more soul crushingly embarrassing the better because hey this is an interrogation right and I had to make every question count!
Okay, this hasn’t happened yet. But I totally want to steal something. I’ve always been a rule-follower, but I really want to steal one little thing, one time. Just slip it in my pocket and go. Just to say I did it. So, mind your belongings next time you’re around me. And don’t use me as an example of what to do in your life. At least not in this regard. Ha!
*pushes the hotlight to the side* Be thankful I didn’t break out the jumper cables this time around. I appreciate you joining us today and I hope the FIRE & FLOOD release has been spectacular!
Time is slipping away….
Tella Holloway is losing it. Her brother is sick, and when a dozen doctors can’t determine what’s wrong, her parents decide to move to Montana for the fresh air. She’s lost her friends, her parents are driving her crazy, her brother is dying—and she’s helpless to change anything.
Until she receives mysterious instructions on how to become a Contender in the Brimstone Bleed. It’s an epic race across jungle, desert, ocean, and mountain that could win her the prize she desperately desires: the Cure for her brother’s illness. But all the Contenders are after the Cure for people they love, and there’s no guarantee that Tella (or any of them) will survive the race.
The jungle is terrifying, the clock is ticking, and Tella knows she can’t trust the allies she makes. And one big question emerges: Why have so many fallen sick in the first place?
Victoria Scott’s breathtaking novel grabs readers by the throat and doesn’t let go.

Wonderful interview! I can’t tell you what type of Pandora I’d be b/c I haven’t read this yet *cowers* but I will! SOON! And I’m pretty sure that if flying is an option, I’d take it 😉

The pandoras as these animal companions you get when you are a race contestant. They each have different powers.

Haha! Well, this is definitely a unique interview technique ;)But the last question, YES. I’ve always wanted to steal something too…that’s bad right? I mean, I have kind of done it (shhh), I stole something from school, kind of counts, right? Oops. PARAMORE ARE ON THE MUSIC PLAYLIST, AND Fall Out Boy? YAY!

Ha ha. What a fun interview. Popeye’s interesting choice but you can’t beat the cheap part, though I am more of a KFC fan. I have this for review and I need to get in gear and contact Victoria and see if I can get her on my blog for Apolcaypse this summer!

My friend tells me Popeye’s is great – I’ll have to live vicariously through all of you folks since fried chicken gives me crazy acid. Oh medical technology needs to advance enough to replace my entire digestive system!
So glad you enjoyed the interview!
