Book Binging (6)

May 10, 2014 Book Binging, memes 27

Huzzah to Book Binging! There is nothing quite as tasty as a good book! If you can’t tell I have a serious book buying and acquiring addiction! Heck, I don’t know a book blogger that doesn’t. If I don’t grab at least as many books as there are number of days in a week I start to go through withdrawals.

So what’s more fun than jumping around and seeing what everyone else has added to their shelves for the week? For that reason I link up two these two lovely ladies:

Review Books!

An interesting mix of books this week. Oh dear me whatever will I read next? Uhhh yeah that believe it or not is the hardest decision ever *stringing cautionary hazard tape around the growing to be read pile at this very moment.*

BB6 review

Snow Like Ashes

Free to Fall by Lauren Miller | Goodreads |  (YA) – arrived unexpectedly from HarperTeen – sounds neat tho – anyone else planning to read?

The Shadow Throne by Django Wexler | Goodreads | – Mogsy loves everything Django so I’m going to binge read him – Roc you are rocking it!

Nebula Awards Showcase 2014 edited by Kij Johnson | Goodreads | – short stories hooray! unexpected surprise from Pyr

Lailah by Nikki Kelly | Goodreads | (YA) – vampires and angels? I admit the cover kind of freaks me out. Thanks Feiwel & Friends!

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch | Goodreads | – (YA) – Lookie lookie at this tasty looking cookie!

Purchased or Gifted Books!

I HAVE A CONFESSION! – I collect Alice in Wonderland books. It’s not something that I set out to do. They have just slowly been accumulating. I do however wish I could get my hands on an antique original copy. Sigh do you know how much money that would cost though?

BB6 purchased

Snow White by Jacob Grim, Camille Rose Garcia (Illustrations) | Goodreads |

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by The Brothers Grimm, Camille Rose Garcia (Illustrations) | Goodreads |

When I'm in the zone I can flip book pages faster than the eye can see - screaming "More Input!" I'm a book, yarn, & art supply hoarding goblin who loves to draw, make toys and craft all sorts of creepy cute things. My current habit is to listen to audio books while I'm arting it up!

Ya, Mogsy keeps reminding me I have not read Wexler too. But what can you do? Can’t get to them all. The cover on the Nebula showcase is friggen awesome.

Alice in Wonderland is like Oz, it can be seen through so many different designs, the options are limitless.

I agree – no we can’t get to them all and I feel so freaking guilty about that. Why do I feel guilty cause I feel like I owe it to all of these books to read them because I just know they are a big bushel of awesome waiting for me.

      Poor lonely books.

Anyways – yes I love that about Wonderland and Oz these will no doubt continue to be done and done and done over and over again! Which excites me cause I love it when they are illustrated in crazy styles like this.

Yes, Wexler is amazing and I’ve gobbled up The Shadow Throne already. Loved it, though I think book one will be more up your alley 😛

Oh I’m curious to see what you’ll think about the books you had, some look really intriguing. I also love the Alice cover, I would love to discover them as well. Happy reading!

An antique copy of a classic can cost a little bit – but it depends on the book and its conditions, too. There are copies of “Alice’s adventures in Wonderland” well preserved (notice, not perfectly; “just” well), printed in the first years of the XX century, which can cost 200€, more or less (275 $ -USD).
When I’m curious about an original edition, or just an older one, I use to go to; it’s very complete, easy and interesting. Hope it will help you 🙂

Ooo great looking books this week! I have Free to Fall as well and I need to get started on it, love the whole app idea. I’m pretty excited to see what everyone thinks of Snow Like Ashes as well.
I love the covers for Snow White and Alice, so unique! I collect copies of Harry Potter, which I never intended to do but just sort of happened. I hope you enjoy them!

OH MY GOD I LOVE YOUR BLOG DESIGN. WHAT IS THIS ADORABLE BOOK-EATING CREATURE. It’s so damn cute! DOES IT HAVE A NAME? Holy shit seriously I wanna adopt it and give it cuddles.

Ahem, sorry, got a bit over-excited there. Those are some cool books you’ve got for review! I really wanna read Snow Like Ashes, and I’ve always wanted to check out Lauren Miller’s books. Lailah looks interesting too. Happy reading!

I’m so glad you like him! I drew that little cutie. Hmm I hadn’t given him a name. How about Greedy Gobbler?

I love drawing – I even do a weekly Fan Art feature where I draw something inspired by a random book I’ve read. You should totally come check it out! I put it up every thursday – its my Fan Art Up! and I even have a linky if people want to link up.

Ah, cool! You’re very talented. (: And the dolls your sister made were beautiful! I’ll be sure to watch out for the next Fan Art post.

Greedy Gobbler is cute! Maybe a bit of a mouthful though. I will call him the Gobbler for short, unless you come up with some other affectionate nickname for him. He is so adorable.

I am dying to read Free to Fall, Tabitha! I loved Parallel, and anticipating the same level of awesomeness from this one, but I’ll be waiting for the book’s release first. Great, eclectic mix of books this week, enjoy!
