Huzzah to Book Binging! There is nothing quite as tasty as a good book! If you can’t tell I have a serious book buying and acquiring addiction! Heck, I don’t know a book blogger that doesn’t. If I don’t grab at least as many books as there are number of days in a week I start to go through withdrawals.
So what’s more fun than jumping around and seeing what everyone else has added to their shelves for the week? For that reason I link up two these two lovely ladies:

Review Books!
I’m pretty happy that I’ve been able to control myself lately and haven’t been requesting like a maniac. Especially considering I’ll be jaunting off to BEA in 10 days! Here are the hopefully tasty viddles that are cracking my shelves this week.
Thief’s Magic by Trudi Canavan | Goodreads | Amazon only $2.99 on Kindle! (Adult Fantasy)
House of the Rising Sun by Kristen Painter | Goodreads | (Adult UF)
Saving Lucas Biggs by Marisa de los Santos & David Teague | Goodreads | (MG) – didn’t expect this one – first I’ve heard of it!
Motherless Child by Glen Hirshberg | Goodreads | (Adult Horror / Vampires) – This one sounds creepy seriously

Purchased Books!
I really enjoyed THESE BROKEN STARS last year (MY REVIEW) so I decided to buy the hardcover this year in preparation for the second book coming out soon. Oh and since I loved it so much I thought I would try her other book which I believe that trilogy is ending this year.

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner | Goodreads | (YA – SF Romance)
Skylark edited by Meagan Spooner | Goodreads | (YA)

You know, I have had The Animals stuck in my head for weeks now because of that damn book showing up on everyone’s list.
ITS BEEN..THE RUIN..OF MANY A POOR BOY…
Usually I am jealous of your stash, but I don’t think I want to read a single one of those. Next time my friend, next time.

I’m really curious to hear how Thief’s Magic is. I’ve debated picking it up a the $2.99 price, but I’ve also been trying to buy less books that I’m not going to read right away. So conflicted. 🙂
Tabitha (Pabkins)
I definitely look forward to it as well. Maggie decided to snatch up that one so she will be reviewing it. I can’t wait to hear. I would say the ebook is the way to go you can’t beat that price.

I just finished House of the Rising Sun. It was…okay…I guess. It’s not bad, but I think it’s one of those “sets up a great story, but the next one should be better” kinda books! I’m definitely going to read the next one, but I hope you like this more than me!
I also have Thief’s Magic and I debated requesting Motherless Child but ultimately decided against it because it interested me but there were other books that demanded my attention. Those are the only ones that caught my eye in your list this week!

I am totally swamped as well but definitely way less now already with Tina and Maggie jumping into the mix. Motherless Child looks like a super short read, the book is way thin. I am estimating four hours max…maybe less.

THESE BROKEN STARS. Gosh, I could handle a hardcover of that on my bookshelf. 😉 And Skylark is sooo beautiful. I borrowed it from the library once but didn’t get to it before the library (rudely) demanded it back. And the cover for Saving Luca Biggs is GORGEOUS. Totally checking it out based on cover alone. 😉

Oh God, everyone’s talking about BEA, which sadly I can’t attend since I’m very very very far away from NYC (basically the US). However, I’m forever thankful for the Armchair BEA community for making the whole thing possible virtually!
PS, Motherless Children sounds so creepy that I haven’t even read the synopsis yet and I think I’m going to add it to my TBR 🙂

Ohhhhhh only $2.99? Definitely going to snag that one. I’m pretty excited about her new book. All her previous have seemed reliably good, although I’ve seen a couple of negative reviews floating around…
Also, how many books do you read per week?! This is quite a haul 🙂

I went a little wild this week and bought the whole Tairen Soul series by C.L. Wilson. Now I can’t stop reading. I even downloaded the Kindle app to my computer at work so I could read on the sly. *sigh* I’m looking forward to Thief’s Magic! Happy reading!

Way to control yourself when it comes to requesting books! I’m sure you’re going to get PLENTY when you go to BEA (jealous)! And yay for the purchased books! I haven’t read These Broken Stars, or anything else by Meagan Spooner, but have heard really good things. Plus, look at that cover! I’m pretty sure that’s reason enough to buy and read it >.>
This week I’m starting Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor. I kept putting it off just because everyone else was reading it and I wanted to wait until the hype died down a little bit, but I think I can’t wait any longer. I want to see how the series ends and if I fall in love with this one as much as everyone else! Plus, it’s the last book of a series and I really need to start making some progress on my series challenge >.>
Oh, and your button said I left the page sitting too long and wanted to know if I’m a spammer that takes naps. No, I am not. I just tend to open up multiple blog posts at once (going through those who have commented on my posts to return the favor) and it takes me a while to get through them all 😛

I have totally been controlling myself ok well kind of. I haven’t been buying a book every day which for me is self control!
Yes plenty of books at BEA is likely an understatement. I’m seriously going to have to get rid of some books from last year’s BEA to make rom.
I loved THESE BROKEN STARS from last year. The one for this year I am hoping I enjoy as much but we’ll see. I wish they would have changed the layout of the cover for the two people instead of using the same pose and the background color I’m not too enthused about.
I totally need to read the Laini Taylor books asap. I just have been behind on review books and haven’t been able to. But soon especially since I’m going to Dragon Con and I think Laini Taylor is going to be there!

Great book haul! And will you be at BEA through Saturday? It’ll be my first time going, even though it’s technically “BookCon” now, but I’m hoping to at least say hi and bye to a few blogging friends. 🙂

Yes I’ll be in New York from Tuesday evening to Saturday afternoon! So we should definitely arrange to bump into eachother.
Are you only attending Saturday? Only Saturday is called BookCon (which I find odd that they are only calling one day of it BookCon) but that is the only day its open to everyone.

Yep, we’ll definitely have to meet up Saturday! I originally bought tickets for BEA’s Power Reader Day, but then that got switched to BookCon, so I have no idea what’s going on. ^^; But it should be fun either way, and I’m planning to hit The Strand, which automatically makes the trip worth it. 🙂

Serious?! O.O No way. A compulsive book buyer like you has to know NYC’s most famous used bookstore.
Kel recently posted…Discussion: Captain America Subplots
Tabitha (Pabkins)
haha – oh yes THAT store. I knew that sounded familiar but no I haven’t been. I didn’t go last year but maybe I’ll try to make it this year. (The onlyl used book store I frequent is the one in my neighborhood, the same one for oh gosh…20 years now) So I’ll have to check this one out. But really though normally I buy them new because I always picture people sitting on the toilet with their books and then selling them to the used bookstore….and then I get completely turned off of buying any.
Mostly I just drop mine off at the used store. So I have like $200 in credit at my store *cackles madly*

Condition varies depending on the book, but in general they’re all pretty good. The major thing about The Strand though is their stock. It’s absolutely huge inside and I’ve found books that released less than a month before. Pricing is a little higher than I like to pay (usually half off list), but for the selection and how rarely I go, it’s usually worth it. 🙂

Well considering I’m flying in from California I guess I better at least visit. I don’t know how and when I’ll have the time but I’ll definitely try. When will you be in town? Sounds like you live in or around NY?
Tabitha (Pabkins) recently posted…Review: Heaven’s Queen by Rachel Bach

It’s definitely worth a quick visit. There’s nothing “quick” about any of my stops there, but you can try. I’m only in town on Saturday for BookCon this year. I live a few hours from NY, not quite close enough to run up in the evenings or I’d suggest a big dinner meetup on another night. 🙁
