This week’s art was inspired by the SONG OF ICE AND FIRE series by George R. R. Martin

Ok so technically it was really more like it was inspired by the character Daenyrs and her dragons. So I drew my own cartoony rendition of her (with her hair starting to grow back of course) and one of her dragons. I’m still not very good with limbs and proportions and perspective yet but hey takes time right?

So I told my good buddy Mogsy @ The Bibliosanctum that today’s Fan Art was going to be of Daenerys and she tweeted me this sketch of hers promptly after. And I just couldn’t not share because Mogsy has some amazing freaking talent! I wish I were this good!! I would totally frame this on my wall!

      Thanks Danny. And hey Daenerys is a Danny! Yes she is such a kick ass character. I love all the titles she has, Khaleesi, and Mother of Dragons. Worthy of fan art for sure.

      Mogsy is amazing!! I’m going to post up her Harry Potter art in a few weeks when I’m off at BEA since I won’t have time to draw anything that week.

      I know right!? When she said “I only have a quick sketch of Daenerys” I’m like ooo send it because heck all I have time lately to do are quick sketches …so she tweets it at me right and then POW.. I’m just godsmacked THAT is what she considers a QUICK sketch?

      That would take me….forever – hell I couldn’t even make that IF I HAD FOREVER!! *sings her praises then falls madly at her art queen feet*

      Glad you liked the dragon. This sketch I don’t consider good enough for painting or coloring. I’ll have to randomly insert some random art into another post of some kind. I like showing my cartoony sketches but hard to find a place for them on a book blog – hence why I decided to do this fan art feature.

      I am working on another little painting though. I can’t do those every week though because they take SOO much more time

      Thanks Cait! Aren’t you and your partner good at art – I adore her drawings for the new Notebook Sisters header. She should totally draw up something! If she doesn’t want to post it on the blog I can always insert it here like I did with Mogsy in a tweet pic.

      My cartoony style is starting to grow on me. I used to lament so much that I couldn’t draw like Mogsy. While I am of course still OOOODLES of jealous I’ve come to like my little sketches as well.

      I totally know what you mean by the fantasy sometimes it can get very overwhelming.

Mogsy’s got some serious skills, and your drawing isn’t half-bad either. 😀 I was just talking to # 1 this morning about my earlier artsy days, so it looks like we’re on the same wave length this morning.     I also agree with the others, your Dany with her dragon is totally dope! You should definitely color it. You’ve heard me say it plenty already, but I think it deserves saying again – you have an awesome style.
