April was such a crazy exciting month! My new blog design launched – I’m running an awesome Kindle E-reader giveaway and a ton of others – as well as having read all sorts of delicious books.
The April Read that Takes the Cake:
ARCHETYPE by M.D. Waters – This science fiction futuristic dystopian with a touch of romance was an amazing read. I could barely put it down and the concepts were amazing and the future while stark also shows some promise. I am counting the months until I can get my hand on the next book!

The amazing authors that graced me with an interview or guest article:
- Danielle L. Jensen: Why Trolls? Because they’re the stuff of Nightmares
- Interview: Victoria Scott on Pandoras, hobbies and secrets!
- Interview: Janet Edwards on Sci-Fi, Dating & Meerkats!
- Interview: Soman Chainani on The School for Good and Evil
- Sharon Lynn Fisher dishes on the Sci-Fi Fantasy of BioPunk
It never ceases to amaze me that I get to interact with authors now on a daily or weekly basis. To me these folks are rock stars…and me their personal papparazzi. I can remember when I used to go to book signings and I would fumble to even come up with a single question to ask them and now they would probably have to slap some duck tape on me to stop the flow of questions.

A little update on my Goodreads yearly challenge. This year I decided to try for 200 books and so far I’m 8 books ahead with having read 74 out of 200! I was 12 books a head in March but hey at least I’m still ahead.

HOT NEWS! : Traveling Blogger Book Art Project. I’ll be unveiling my traveling book in the next few weeks and hope that some of you fellow bloggers will be interested in receiving the Art Journal! The plan is you’d whip up some art of your own onto a 2page spread of the art journal then mail it onto the next person. Doesn’t it sound fun? No artistic talent required if you want to collage a page up instead I’m totally open to that – just be creative. Hit me up in the comments or email me if you’re seriously interested.

74 damn books. Impressive. I am speechless. My 100 no longer looks like enough. So many stories I need still.

I’m at 82 books so far for this year. Come on, Tabitha, stop slacking!
(To be totally honest, I am utterly mystified at how I’ve read so much this year already, though I wouldn’t be surprised if a third of those are audiobooks.)

Nathan (@reviewbarn)
Audiobooks have helped my total, but only by about 10%. Think I have listened to four since march, working on five.
Tabitha (Pabkins)
Yeah the audio books are much slower listens / reads for me because I feel like I don’t absorb as well listening as I do reading. Ok ok yeah I have been slacking. At one point I was 12 books ahead of schedule. The blog design junk took up a lot of time.

You’re going to read 200 books this year? Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever read that many books in 12 months, challenge or not. Good luck (not that you need it… you seem to be doing great)!

My goal for the past several years has been 75 books, and even though I’ve met it every time, I never really felt the urge to increase it. This year I finally decided not to set a goal and just read. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it’s my highest year yet, but it’s kind of nice not having an official number I’m shooting for.
(Okay, so *technically* I’m still in a 75-books group on GR. I’m one of the moderators, so it would feel weird to me to leave just because that’s not my goal anymore. But I’m there more to offer support and organize occasional group activities than to track my own books.)

Tabitha (Pabkins)
That is a brilliant idea! I haven’t been checking my status on the goal much lately – I used to check it religiously last year. But this year I’m just all about binge reading and then all of a sudden I was 12 ahead. Now I’m only 8 but I’m still hoping that I’ll hit another stride month of reading a book a day.
Yeah you should totally stick around in that GR group. THey need your support haha.

Wow – I had set my goal for 100 books, but have also read 75 books so far this year. I didn’t realize I was on track for 200. I might have to up my goal and we can cheer each other on!
I just got Stolen Songbird on your recommendation and I am REALLY excited to read it. I’ve also really been meaning to give Saga a try, especially now that I see you gave it 5 stars.

Wow 200 books. My goal this year is less than last year’s at 80 books and I feel like that might even be a challenge. Good for you! Now if only my reviewing pace kept up with my reading pace. But that’s another story. 🙂
