PRINCESS OF THORNS by Stacey Jay | Goodreads
Coming from Delacorte Press – December 9th, 2014
I have yet to read one of Stacey Jay’s retellings but she seems to keep coming out with them so I definitely want to read this one and there are a few others I have on my shelves that I have yet to read. Goal for this year – read at least one – preferably this one haha.
Game of Thrones meets the Grimm’s fairy tales in this twisted, fast-paced romantic fantasy-adventure about Sleeping Beauty’s daughter, a warrior princess who must fight to reclaim her throne.
Though she looks like a mere mortal, Princess Aurora is a fairy blessed with enhanced strength, bravery, and mercy yet cursed to destroy the free will of any male who kisses her. Disguised as a boy, she enlists the help of the handsome but also cursed Prince Niklaas to fight legions of evil and free her brother from the ogre queen who stole Aurora’s throne ten years ago.
Will Aurora triumph over evil and reach her brother before it’s too late? Can Aurora and Niklaas break the curses that will otherwise forever keep them from finding their one true love?

Meet Hwa. One of the few in her community to forego bio-engineered enhancements, she’s the last truly organic person left on the rig. But she’s an expert in the arts of self-defence, and she’s been charged with training the Family’s youngest, who has been receiving death threats – seemingly from another timeline.
Meanwhile, a series of interconnected murders threatens the city’s stability – serial killer? Or something much, much worse…?
What amazing books are you impatient for!?

Good god, what is with all the Sleeping Beauty stuff going on? Honestly the most boring of fairy tales. I hope some of this stuff works, I admit Princess of Thorns holds more interest than the movie they are advertising the hell out of.

I didn’t know these 2 books but I love the second cover. Curious to know more about them!

I’ve read Stacey Jay’s other retelling and it was promising enough to make me really excited for this one. Also, the blurb! I don’t like ‘pitched as’ or ‘X meets Y’ but GOT meets Grimm? Hell yeah!

I’m really curious about Princess of Thorns. I loved Stacey Jay’s Of Beast and Beauty last year, though I haven’t tried any of her other books. This one sounds like something I would enjoy. 🙂
