There is magic and then there are Magicians.
I’ve only just recently decided to delve into the world of Magician’s that Lev Grossman has created and in a way I’m glad because now I can binge read the entire trilogy back to back.
Have you read the books? Are you excited to? If you have read them please feel free to gush about them to me because I always love to hear fantastic squeeing over books that look like they are for me.
The lovely folks over at Viking have provided this prize in celebration of the upcoming release of the third and final book THE MAGICIAN’S LAND. So enter if you are a US resident, and enjoy!
The Magician’s Kit contains:
- An excerpt booklet containing Chapter 1 of THE MAGICIAN’S LAND
- Clock-face buttons in 3 different designs: click to view here
- A set of 4 postcards featuring Magicians fan art by Christopher Shy

When I'm in the zone I can flip book pages faster than the eye can see - screaming "More Input!" I'm a book, yarn, & art supply hoarding goblin who loves to draw, make toys and craft all sorts of creepy cute things. My current habit is to listen to audio books while I'm arting it up!

I do like magic. I don’t know how to do any, but I am still amazed like a child.

Yeah, well I guess these books just aren’t for me (although cool prize pack!) I could NOT make it through THE MAGICIANS, and I tried to read it back before I was blogging, so I had plenty of time/no pressure etc. My one word to describe it: BORING. Sorry all you die hard Grossman fans! It’s not you, it’s me:-)

Haha – you know I’ve heard that it got a bit sluggish in parts but I’m hoping that I will love it. I remember it being the SWORD AND LASER book club pick sometime last year and I’ve wanted to read it ever since.

I guess I’m glad I didn’t read The Magicians when it first caught my attention, because I didn’t realize it was going to be a series.

I’m currently reading the first book now, and it got off to such a great start! About 50% in though and I’m starting to understand why people are saying it dragged. Things are starting to unravel a bit, but I’m hoping it’ll pick up again!

I’ve heard that but I thin it would be well worth pursuing. We’ve definitely read plenty of books that slow down in the middle and then turn themselves around later…especially if the second book is stronger which sometimes is the case. *waiting for my copy to arrive*

I do believe I have a copy of book one laying around, Haven’t read it yet though… and its also a bit meh that its a series a lot have said its not good but I really love magic books etc. so I’m hoping maybe my non science fiction types friends didn’t like it because of that.
