About Me Junk:
- Realized I couldn’t possibly read all these books alone so MAGGIE & TINA joined Not Yet Read as Book Reviewers!
- Made some marvelous new book loving friends around the blog-o-verse: Kel, Joy, Kim, Octavia, Anna, Valerie, Steph, Meg, Kat, Kristy, oh goodness – and more!
- Got a smoking new haircut and color and have been experimenting with eyeliner cat eyes!
- Bought my ticket, booked my flight to DRAGON CON. I’m going with Jessica from Rabid Reads
- Flew to New York and attended BloggerCon and BEA where I met loads of amazing bloggers and publishers!
- My husband and I both forgot our wedding anniversary (but I did get a new Ipad as a present)
- Used my new Autograph book and got tons of cool signatures from authors!
- Have hit a rock with my blog design – you might notice it’s really plain right now, there were some bugs with the ‘new’ design, plus I’m in a funk on what I want it to look like. Feedback is welcome folks.

HOT NEWS! : Traveling Blogger Book Art Project. I’ll be unveiling my traveling book in the next few weeks and hope that some of you fellow bloggers will be interested in receiving the Art Journal! The plan is you’d whip up some art of your own onto a 2page spread of the art journal then mail it onto the next person. Doesn’t it sound fun? No artistic talent required if you want to collage a page up instead I’m totally open to that – just be creative. Hit me up in the comments or email me if you’re seriously interested.

LOL, so busy you forgot your wedding anniversary! Both of you! Actually, kinda reminds me of a funny story this month, my husband brought home flowers a couple weeks ago and I was like, what for? He goes, “Um, happy anniversary?” I was like, “Nooo?” He was a whole month early, got the date right, not the month. I teased him mercilessly 😉
Actually Tabitha, I’m really liking the plainer look!

That is too hilarious at least he had the anniversary on his brain – neither one of us did. It was kind of funny.
I’m so glad you like it plainer. I am really liking it as well. It feels less cluttered. I plan to change the header color of NOT YET READ to BLUE since the dominating color on the robot is blue.

I have never forgot my anniversary. Not bought anything a few times, but forgot completely? No, I always knew it was there.

Over! Over! It’s not over til you do a wrap up post and find space to shelve all the new books. They are currently sitting in five stacks against the wall…and my last day box won’t arrive til who knows.

LOL! Now that’s the truth. Mine started out all over the couch until I realized I needed lay down at some point. They’re currently in several piles on the floor. I hate to say it but I have no room! Time to do some cleaning out and donations.

Heck I didn’t even read as much as I would have liked to because I’m adjusting to being back at work. Sometimes I can read a book a day when I’m having a good month! Just you wait and see!
Thanks glad you like the new layout – I’m going with less pop and color and simpler look.

Both forgetting the anniversary? I’ve been there before too! 🙂 Dragon Con also sounds awesome, I went to my first comic con this year and I know I’ll keep coming back.

I am having huge BEA envy, le sigh…. next time. 😉
Sounds like you had a fun month. 🙂
Livia @ Butterfly-o-Meter Books
Plainer look works very well too, as long as you have your robo up there it works great 😀 Plus you can always add in other elements if you decide you wanna pimp it out more, lol.
Haha, well the anniversary ended in a cool gift so I’d say it’s all good, right? 😀
And yeeey for going to BEA, and more yey for Dragon Con with Jessica!!
May was awesome, you did a lot, read a lot, got a lot of books…how could it have been better, right? xD

That is pretty funny about you both forgetting your anniversary. That usually happens after you’ve been married a long time (like me). Obviously you are both super busy people! Can’t wait to hear about BEA, and I’m dying to read The Defenders. Hope June is just as good for you:-)

Oh so you like the plainer look that I went with? I like it – all that color and busy stuff and the way it was buggy just wasn’t working for me. I still have a lot of tweaking i want to do to this and I might hire someone else but right now I’m burnt out on spending money on design and coding….
YES READ RACHEL BACH!!!
And yes I’m going to vote on the HUGOs – I’m going to try to get through it all I just downloaded my packet yesterday.

LOL, Tabitha! Are you one of those people that has to redecorate her house every six months? It’s been less than two and you’re already wanting something new! *snickers* Congratulations on your first full month, and on your new associate reviewers. You’re amazing 😉

See I found your comment. So never fear!
No I totally don’t redecorate the house every few months. Actually the new blog has been up over two full months now! My how time flies! And you know another one of my girlfriends wants to join the fray!!
*blushes* ahhh shucks you’re so sweet =)

I commented already, but it’s not showing up. Maybe that’s for the best, b/c I was cracking up at your need for a redesign already, LOL. Anyway, congratulations on your first full month, and on your new associate reviewers–you are AMAZING.

Maybe I have too many spam blocker plugins running! LOL You are spammity spam *cackles madly* No worries I personally check my spam box every day. Sometimes it puts people in spam for oddball reasons like commenting too quickly after opening the post. YES REDESIGN! Wait wait – what do you think of the plainer look? I rather like it. Simple clean, easy on the eyes.

Kel
I’m glad you’ve (mostly) recovered from BEA! It looks like you’ve had an extra busy month, but at least your two new co-bloggers should help lighten the load, right? 🙂
As far as blog design, I don’t mind the simpler look it has now. I find more blogs have a lack of white space, but I know what you mean; you want to add a little something special, especially since so many book blogs use this theme. Maybe keep it simple and just add a touch of color on the menu and widget bars? Or adjust the column sizes? Enlarging the posts column and narrowing the sidebar can make a huge visual difference. 🙂

Tabitha (Pabkins)
Hmm I’m still not recovered…I’m jet lagged and falling asleep SUPER early every night and I still feel like I could sleep a whole day away if the husband let me. Yes my local girlfriends jumping on board is definitely helping me feel less stressed. Another one says she wants to join so we’ll see if she really does want to. She’s coming over tonight to peruse the book stacks.
I like the simpler cleaner look. I am in the midst of slowly making changes to it. It reads easier now for sure. There are a lot of changes you can do to this theme but I’ll definitely be tweaking it more as the days pass this month. I only have a short amount of time to work on that though. I might just hire Ashley right out to do one for me.
