I don’t really sign up for many challenges and I didn’t learn about this one til recently because normally I read more then I listen. But the past few months because of my reading funk I’ve been doing a whole lot more listening especially while working on my various art projects. I’m totally going to increase the amount I listen next year too!
Our lovely hosts, The Book Nympho and Hot Listens, are sponsoring a giveaway to celebrate the end of their first year. Enter for a chance to win a 3 month Audible membership or a $25 gift card.
Also if you are looking to try more audiobooks in the coming year you should challenge yourself!! Sign-ups for the 2015 Audiobook Challenge will open shortly over at Hot Listens!
Levels
- Newbie (I’ll give it a try) 1-5
- Weekend Warrior (I’m getting the hang of this) 5-10
- Stenographer (can listen while multi-tasking) 10-15
- Socially Awkward (Don’t talk to me) 15-20
- Binge Listener (Why read when someone can do it for you) 20-30
- My Precious (I had my earbuds surgically implanted) 30-50

Good job! Kevin Hearne’s series is really good on audio. I need to get back to it.

I need to continue it! I was really surprised that I had ended up listening to so many. That averaged out to more then one a month – I think next year I’ll be able to tackle even more since the new baby will have arrived in March.

If you enjoy that series you should try CHARMING by Elliott James on audio. Similar in tone and the narrator is really good.

Thanks! Yeah I didn’t realize I had even listened to this many. I don’t always even manage 1 a month so that I made it over 12 was a big surprise for me!

Looks like you’ve had some seriously good audiobook luck this year! Wow, I can’t even imagine listening to Way of Kings on audiobook. That must’ve taken months haha. I’ve got an audio copy of Nice Dragons Finish Last, hoping to give it a listen come 2015.

I totally did have some fabulous luck! Heck I just finished one of the ones I was currently listening to and I’ve already moved onto another today!
I hope you love Nice Dragons Finish Last I definitely did.
And yes Way of Kings did take me several months to finish on audio. I’m listening to Words of Radiance on audio as well and I’m half way done. But I just have to take breaks from it because its soo long. And I’m even listening to it on 2x speed which makes the almost 50 hour book only 25 hours but that’s still a WHOLE FREAKING DAY worth of audiobook listening. That has to be spread out.
I should make it a point to listen to at least one chapter every few days shouldn’t I? It’s amazing narration I love it.

Congrats on reaching the ‘My Precious’ level this year!! I mad the ‘My Precious’ level too in the 2014 Audiobook Challenge. I never thought I’d reach it, but was amazed to reach 48 listens for the year.

Oh no I didn’t reach My Precious. I only reached Socially Awkward =P But I’m aiming for My Precious next year. I’ve gotten way more into using audible and being able to speed up the audio books. Previously I had been using my ipod via the library audiobooks and I couldn’t speed those up so it make listening into a chore because they read so slow. Now that I can speed them up to 2x or 3x speed I’m enjoying them SOO much more.
