Huzzah to Book Binging! and all things Science Fiction and Fantasy!

This post gets a little bit out of hand….cause yeah Anya sent me a ton of books and I bought a lot of books…and hey I actually won a few books….plus I’m in a totally big reading groove nomming down on books like its nobody’s business. I tell you I’m already ahead on my read 200 books this year challenge!

REVIEW BOOKS!

BB15 review

Review books are ones I’ve either requested or accepted into my review pile and will definitely get read eventually. All according to my mood. I do so try to be timely but hey you know you’ve gotta read whats screaming your name just that second.

– OWL AND THE JAPANESE CIRCUS by Kristi Charish (ARC) – finished reading it – really enjoyed it, archaeology, globetrotting, and urban fantasy – my first Simon and Schuster Canada read, sent courtesy of the lovely author. 

– FIREFIGHT (Reckoners #2) by Brandon Sanderson (AUDIO) – finished – another great read by Sanderson! – courtesy of Audible and it was great!

– THE MARTIAN by Andy Weir (TP) – Figured I finally needed to give this one a try – trying out that Blogging for Books site by Crown Publishing.

– DARKWALKER (Nicolas Lenoir #1) by E.L. Tettensor (MMP) – finished – definitely a thrilling fantasy mystery – much thanks to ROC Fantasy!

– MASTER OF PLAGUES (Nicolas Lenoir #2) by E.L. Tettensor (MMP) – reading this one soon!

– HELLHOLE by Gina Damico (HC) – This one looks like so much fun! Thanks Houghton Mifflin Harcourt!

– KUSHIEL’S DART (#1) by Jacqueline Carey (TP) – I’ve been meaning to read this one forever and this is the new trade paperback release – Thanks Tor!

– BECOMING JINN by Lori Goldstein (ARC) – This one looks to be a cool young adult fantasy read from

Unsolicited books are ones that just arrive at my house unexpectedly.

– THE VERY BEST OF KATE ELLIOTT by Kate Elliott (ARC) – I will be giving this one a read!

– LOW MIDNIGHT (Kitty Norville #13) by Carrie Vaughn (MMP) – I haven’t even read past the first book in this series…likely won’t either because it looks like one of those UF series that I might end up thinking has gone of for too long.

– THE PROVIDENCE OF FIRE (Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne #2) by Brian Stavelly (HC) – Maggie’s husband Alan will be reading and reviewing this one for the blog

– ARMAGEDDON RULES (#2) by J.C. Nelson (ARC) – I believe Maggie read book 1 last year so she’ll likely be giving this one a read.

– WHEN MY HEART WAS WICKED by Tricia Stirling (ARC) –This is an unexpected treat from Scholastic – I’ll definitely be reading it especially since its so short, plus that title you just can’t freaking beat that title!

I don’t enter many book giveaways these days but woohoo I entered one over on Reader’s Wonderland and was lucky enough to win the entire set of Morgan Rhodes Falling Kingdoms trilogy plus a t-shirt! Ok I just checked and I thought this was a trilogy but it looks like it’s not because there is already a title for fourth book – FROZEN TIDES.

There was a “boxing day” sale over on bookoutlet.com around Christmas time and I took advantage of it because everything on the site had been lowered in price and then I received an extra 20% off (if I’m remembering correctly) on top of that. So I went a little bat shit clickity click crazy. I really need to control myself. My husband came home tonight from his overseas business trip to see all of these books in two huge stacks on the kitchen counter and went – “what the hell?” I’m not listing them – you just get to you know have a look see. LOL

    So many great books! I really enjoyed Kate Elliott’s anthology, I loved The Martian, and Six Gun Tarot and Firefight are on my TBR pile. I have Firefight on hold at the library and I’m so annoyed with how long I have to wait on that one :/

    Kushiel’s Dart: YESSSS!!! I love that book. I loved the second even more. I haven’t read the 3rd yet though. BTW: You will either love that book or hate it. It’s such a controversial book, but I love it to pieces nonetheless.

    Becoming Jinn: That is one I’m looking forward too. I’m hoping it’ll be kinda quirky and fun.

    Hellhole: I’ve been waiting for this one to release. I had not realized it already did. Shame on those who did not notify me of this. CURSES.

    Dealing With Dragons: We must be twins. I just got the box set of this series in the mail. What the hell.

    You should let me know if you start Kushiel’s Dart. I could always go for a reread. 😀 I’m not sure on the new cover, but I like that it’s finally in trade size… I wore out my mass market because with a book that long the spine doesn’t last for too many reads.

    Otherwise…yeah, this is pretty epic. Your poor shelves 😛

      Well the physical copy of FIREFIGHT is an ARC – I would totally prefer the final copy but hey I have the ARC of STEELHEART as well so at least its a matching set. And Steelheart I had signed at BEA the year it came out. I adored the audio so I think for this series I might just continue on with audio. But I like having them on the shelf. I’m weird like that!

      How is it you always comment on my older posts!? Do you click over from your comment luv or something on a post of yours I’ve left a comment on? Or is it you cleaning out your feed reader. I have always wondered cause you’re like one of the only people I see that comments on stuff from over a week old that isn’t on the front page lol.

      I’ve totally been binging on my library lately! I haven’t read any of the ones I bought yet LOL
