Huzzah to Book Binging! and all things Science Fiction and Fantasy!
I’m totally going to try to do this more regularly so that way the compiling of the post doesn’t overwhelm me! And since lately I’m reading like normal again that I haven’t even been able to get my reviews up fast enough I’ll be including a section that covers what I’ve read so far that month (all the easier for me to copy and paste it into my end of month wrap up! LOL)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WISHLIST but haven’t managed to get a copy of !
I know most people put this in a Waiting on Wednesday post but ehh – I usually find several books each week that I wish I could get my hands on that I try to but either get denied or I never hear back about, or I don’t bother to even try because I figure it would be hopeless. So here you can see the ones I covet…I covet, I covet, yearn, pine and perish to have. If you ever see something I yearn for and you would be willing to swap send a holler my way!
– AN EMBER IN THE ASHES by Sabaa Tahir
– THE GIRL AT MIDNIGHT by Melissa Grey
– COURT OF FIVES by Kate Elliott
REVIEW BOOKS RECEIVED!
Review books are ones I’ve either requested or accepted into my review pile and will definitely get read eventually. All according to my mood. I do so try to be timely but hey you know you’ve gotta read whats screaming your name just that second.
– THE NOVICE by Taran Matharu (ARC) – This looks like its going to be a fabulous YA fantasy. At least I hope it lives up to my expectations. Thanks so much for the copy Feiwel and Friends
– ECHO 8 by Sharon Lynn Fisher (ARC) – I’ve read two books by this author, GHOST PLANET and THE OPHELIA PROPHECY, which were standalone Sci-Fi romances and I thoroughly enjoyed both. So I can’t wait to dig into this one this weekend! Thanks Tor Books!
– TUCK EVERLASTING by Natalie Babbitt (HC) – Kat read and reviewed this one earlier in the month and Macmillan was fabulous enough to send along their new 40th anniversary edition!
– SEEKER #1 by Arwen Elys Dayton (audio) – I snagged this thinking it looked promising, so we will see!
– I REMEMBER YOU by Cathleen Davitt Bell (audio) – This one didn’t originally hit my radar because I thought it was contemporary but supposedly it’s science fiction. I’ll give it a shot.
PURCHASED BOOKS
E-books this past week! – these three were on sale during a daily deal so I figured why not?
– THE LINE (#1), THE SOURCE (#2), THE VOID (#3) by J.D. Horn (kindle)
GIFTED BOOKS
I’m completely out of Audible credits so my sister was nice enough to gift me the last book in the Parasol Protectorate series! Can you believe she FORGOT or didn’t even realize Audible was subscription based and so had been accumulating credits all last year and since you can only keep 6 credits she let 6 whole credits EXPIRE!? So yeah, I’m totally going to help her from letting that happen again by being the willing more like forcing her to buy me audio books so these precious credits don’t go to waste *twists her arm* recipient of all her credits!
– TIMELESS (Parasol Protectorate #5) by Gail Carriger (audio)
haha that’s awesome!! (about the audible credits your sister had!) sucks some expired, but I have a feeling you’ll be great at preventing that from happening again haha. I see on GR you’re flying through the Parasol Protectorate series! I think you’re on changeless now, which is the one I need to read… I love these books and it’s what I’m going to think of next time I want a read that I know will be quick and funny and awesome. Which will probably be soon because I need books to keep me out of this slump I’ve been trying to get rid of haha
Red Iza
Never heard about T.L. Fisher or Echo 8, but I am really interested, thanks for sharing ! But really, all those covers and blurbs look so tempting, enjoy and have a great week 😉
I definitely want to read An Ember In The Ashes once it’s out. As for new books I recently bought, I think my STS link below will sum it up quite nicely. 🙂
Enjoy your new haul, Pabs! 🙂
I’m reading Echo 8 next, I just love Sharon’s books:-) Yeah, I get denied A LOT, especially on Edelweiss for some reason. Go figure. But then I think, I have so many other books to read, does it really matter? I can just buy the book later if it’s a one I really want to read.
Audible only lets you keep so many credits? I’m not too familiar with it myself, but I was thinking of trying. It sounds like you think it is worth it.
I haven’t heard of some of those books, but the covers are lovely. (Look at me, cover shopping already.)
By the way, your little mascot/logo guy is the cutest ever!
The Parasol Protectorate series was a lot of fun. Her YA is cute too – but is on the younger side of YA.
You and me both on Court of Fives, Tabitha! I NEED that book. Kate Elliott is so epic and I’m very excited to see what her YA work will shape up to be. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on The Novice – my fingers are crossed that it’s gonna be epic but I’ve been burned before…
Ahhhh enjoy the Gail Carriger audiobook! I just finished book 1 in her YA series on audio and the narrator was fantastic, definitely recommend it.
