This week’s art
My sister was visiting for about three weeks as she wanted to be here when my baby was born (Friday the 13th of March woohoo) anyways before he finally arrived my mother and I were able to make her a couple of slouchie beanie crochet hats that she wanted. She rarely ever asks us to make anything for her so of course we whipped these out for her. What do you think? Oh and she was AGHAST at just how expensive good yarn costs. The yarn for each hat was about $60 because she wanted super soft baby alpaca yarn and hey you pay for what you get and they are soooo freaking amazingly soft!

My mother crocheted the body of this hat. There are also some awesome fingerless gloves that I made to match but forgot to take a picture before she left.
You can see lots more of my daily doodles over on my instagram! Remember if you decide to participate via Twitter or Instagram please use #ArtitUp so we can all checkout your doodles!

Random Doodles of the Week
A quick doodle of a fox toy. Can you believe I actually doodled after the baby was born? Neither can I. But at around day 6 I got so stir crazy in the house (because I feel so broken I refuse to go anywhere in the car) that I just NEEDED to do something other then be a milk bag. I even did some watercoloring. I’ll post those next week!

I knew how much good yarn cost! My MiL is crafty like you. Me? I would never have the patience for it. But I love the results.

You never know how much goes into the simplest actions until you can’t do them anymore, right? I hope you feel better soon! And I’m kind of chuckling over how quickly you’re back to your same old productive self. Several cute hats (that yarn looks super thick and soft!) and a doodle already? Something tells me you’ll be back to full speed in no time.

Those are amazing creations! I want to learn how to knit too. But Lordy, $60 for yarn?? I’ll settle for something cheaper, maybe if I soak it in downy long enough it’ll go soft. Lol
Congrats on your new angel!

Those slouchie beanie hats you made for your sister look really awesome and so soft! I never realized good yarn would be that expensive, but it’s definitely worth it as the hats look great.

The hat with ears is super cute! Yeah the good stuff does cost more than the box store stuff. But I like to work with nice things. If I am taking the time to make something though, part of the appeal is for me to have fun working with it and I like to work with nice stuff, so it’s worth it to me.

Wow, $60 for one hat? I also had NO idea that yarn could be so expensive, although at least you made some beautiful beanies out of it! Going to look up alpaca farming now…
