It happens sometimes – life barges in on my blogging world and interrupts things. For the most part I’m always able to balance my blogging / reading hobby with my everyday life stuff. But hey – Having a baby isn’t everyday! *maniacal laughter* So I’ve missed posting at least 4 days already this month because of the pregnancy and now the birth of my new baby boy Dylan. Heck I don’t feel bad about it I just go ‘darn I should have planned ahead better!’
So here he is the culprit that interrupted the regularly scheduled Not Yet Read programming! Meet my latest creation – DYLAN!
On more of a discussion side of things – what are some of the most common things that cause you to push your blog to the side? Here are a few for me:
- Just plain laziness – it’s 8pm at night and I realize I don’t have anything scheduled for the next day – or that I haven’t finished writing the post that WAS supposed to be scheduled and go live. Then I go frag that I just can’t be bothered to do it right now.
- I completely forgot – that’s happened twice this week – I THOUGHT I had already formatted and prescheduled for two days of stuff and didn’t realize til logging on just now that they really weren’t finished of scheduled – Ooops.
- Getting sick or otherwise completely incapacitated– sometimes it happens…heck right now I feel pretty sick. I’m in between new baby euphoria, recovery and total sleep exhaustion. I am zombie!
- Going on vacation or a short trip – I would like to think I would always plan ahead for something like this and usually I do.
Luckily my husband has always been really great about indulging my crazy blogging and reading habits. I wonder how that is going to hold up to us now having two kids instead of one. Only time will tell!

Aaaaaw, Dylan is so adorable! It’s a beautiful picture 🙂
For me, university is what interrupts my scheduling. Sometimes, I just have too much work and can’t even bring myself to still write a blog post.

Congrats on your new baby! He’s adorable!
I haven’t exactly pushed my blog to the side (yet) but lately I’ve had an uptick in commitments which leads to less blog reading, commenting, and inter-blogger engagement. In my case, it’s physical therapy sessions and exercises that have also thrown my reading off track- it doesn’t sound like much, but when you go three times a week and are completely exhausted afterwards, it eats away at your routine. Of course, with a new baby it’s probably much more difficult- I love the Target commercial that called the babies time thieves.

Dude the babies are totally time thieves. They are the sucking black holes of energy, thought and pretty much everything! As I sit here with an exhaustion headache….what I wouldn’t give for 8straight hours of sleep!

I would say this is your best creation 😉 Congratulations! (and what a pretty name) When I push my blog aside it’s just out of laziness or if I’m truly too busy with other things.

Thanks Mel! Yeah he came out pretty darn fine I have to say. He is so much more sensitive compared to my first child tho. While noise doesn’t bother him his skin and belly are sensitive where with my first son he didn’t have those issues. It’s so neat that their cries were/are so different too. I lucked out that Dylan is not a shrieker. He has a nice quiet cry.

He’s so lovely and looks very content.
Life in general just sometimes gets in the way of blogging – I still want to be social and see my friends and if I have a busy weekend then I can’t really blog much because I haven’t read much! Or sometimes I’m just too tired – which you must be feeling now with a newborn baby! I’m an absolute bear with a sore head if I don’t have 8 hours sleep.

Dylan is super cute! Congrats! I’m sure if anyone can make blogging work with two small kids, it’s you:-) I pretty much have to do ALL my blogging on the weekends, so what stops me is when I have other things to do, trips and such, and then I don’t have much to post that week.Have a wonderful time with the new baby!

Absolutely adorable!! I think stress is the most likely reason I fall behind. Lots to do, and sometimes I need to step away from the computer. I work from home full time from home, so where I blog is also where I work. Also, if my reading time is cut into by life, that can put a damper on it as well. I will usually opt to read rather than blog if I am really behind and have a bit of free time.

Pretty special creation right there 😉 and I love the name! I think for me it’s a combination of laziness and real life obligations that tend to get in the way the most.

Congratulations Tabitha! Dylan is absolutely perfect and adorable! I can only imagine how full your schedule is right now with a newborn (I’ve had four), and even if we get one post a week, I’m certain your lovely followers (and I) would be more than happy 🙂 Enjoy these moments! Said it before, but it’s worth repeating: Dylan is adorable!
As for what makes me not post? Laziness for sure. That’s the biggest culprit. Also sickness, mine or Dad’s. And RL work. Summer will be here soon and that’s the busy time for my job, so I can almost guarantee my posts will become more sporadic unless I can get a bunch scheduled ahead of time.

COngratulations! Dylan is totally adorable. He’s a great reason to slow down on the blogging. I am like you though and all of the reasons you noted above have been the cause of blog delays. I unfortunately am not very far ahead when it comes to scheduling posts so if something comes up, I don’t usually have time to blog. I don’t mind though because it’s for fun and I don’t like to put too much pressure on myself. Can’t wait to see more of Dylan!
