Interrupting the regularly scheduled programming

March 22, 2015 About Me, Discussion 37

It happens sometimes – life barges in on my blogging world and interrupts things. For the most part I’m always able to balance my blogging / reading hobby with my everyday life stuff. But hey – Having a baby isn’t everyday! *maniacal laughter* So I’ve missed posting at least 4 days already this month because of the pregnancy and now the birth of my new baby boy Dylan. Heck I don’t feel bad about it I just go ‘darn I should have planned ahead better!’

So here he is the culprit that interrupted the regularly scheduled Not Yet Read programming! Meet my latest creation – DYLAN!

Dylan

On more of a discussion side of things – what are some of the most common things that cause you to push your blog to the side? Here are a few for me:

  • Just plain laziness – it’s 8pm at night and I realize I don’t have anything scheduled for the next day – or that I haven’t finished writing the post that WAS supposed to be scheduled and go live. Then I go frag that I just can’t be bothered to do it right now.
  • I completely forgot – that’s happened twice this week – I THOUGHT I had already formatted and prescheduled for two days of stuff and didn’t realize til logging on just now that they really weren’t finished of scheduled – Ooops.
  • Getting sick or otherwise completely incapacitated– sometimes it happens…heck right now I feel pretty sick. I’m in between new baby euphoria, recovery and total sleep exhaustion. I am zombie!
  • Going on vacation or a short trip – I would like to think I would always plan ahead for something like this and usually I do.

Luckily my husband has always been really great about indulging my crazy blogging and reading habits. I wonder how that is going to hold up to us now having two kids instead of one. Only time will tell!

When I'm in the zone I can flip book pages faster than the eye can see - screaming "More Input!" I'm a book, yarn, & art supply hoarding goblin who loves to draw, make toys and craft all sorts of creepy cute things. My current habit is to listen to audio books while I'm arting it up!

Aaaaaw, Dylan is so adorable! It’s a beautiful picture 🙂

For me, university is what interrupts my scheduling. Sometimes, I just have too much work and can’t even bring myself to still write a blog post.

Congrats on your new baby! He’s adorable!
I haven’t exactly pushed my blog to the side (yet) but lately I’ve had an uptick in commitments which leads to less blog reading, commenting, and inter-blogger engagement. In my case, it’s physical therapy sessions and exercises that have also thrown my reading off track- it doesn’t sound like much, but when you go three times a week and are completely exhausted afterwards, it eats away at your routine. Of course, with a new baby it’s probably much more difficult- I love the Target commercial that called the babies time thieves.

Thanks Mel! Yeah he came out pretty darn fine I have to say. He is so much more sensitive compared to my first child tho. While noise doesn’t bother him his skin and belly are sensitive where with my first son he didn’t have those issues. It’s so neat that their cries were/are so different too. I lucked out that Dylan is not a shrieker. He has a nice quiet cry.

He’s so lovely and looks very content.
Life in general just sometimes gets in the way of blogging – I still want to be social and see my friends and if I have a busy weekend then I can’t really blog much because I haven’t read much! Or sometimes I’m just too tired – which you must be feeling now with a newborn baby! I’m an absolute bear with a sore head if I don’t have 8 hours sleep.

Dylan is super cute! Congrats! I’m sure if anyone can make blogging work with two small kids, it’s you:-) I pretty much have to do ALL my blogging on the weekends, so what stops me is when I have other things to do, trips and such, and then I don’t have much to post that week.Have a wonderful time with the new baby!

Absolutely adorable!! I think stress is the most likely reason I fall behind. Lots to do, and sometimes I need to step away from the computer. I work from home full time from home, so where I blog is also where I work. Also, if my reading time is cut into by life, that can put a damper on it as well. I will usually opt to read rather than blog if I am really behind and have a bit of free time.

Awww he’s gorgeous! Welcome Dylan! 🙂
For me laziness is almost always guilty for no posts situation.
Or surprise visit from my mother. She comes for one day and when she leaves in the evening I feel like tornado went trough the house. LOL

Congratulations Tabitha! Dylan is absolutely perfect and adorable! I can only imagine how full your schedule is right now with a newborn (I’ve had four), and even if we get one post a week, I’m certain your lovely followers (and I) would be more than happy 🙂 Enjoy these moments! They really do fly by incredibly fast. . .

Said it before, but it’s worth repeating: Dylan is adorable!

As for what makes me not post? Laziness for sure. That’s the biggest culprit. Also sickness, mine or Dad’s. And RL work. Summer will be here soon and that’s the busy time for my job, so I can almost guarantee my posts will become more sporadic unless I can get a bunch scheduled ahead of time.

LOOK AT THE PRECIOUS!! Congratulations on your fabulous baby-making skills. They really worked out for you. 🙂

My blog gets pushed to the side when I get too busy at work (darn those deadlines) or when it’s 8pm at night and I haven’t written anything…yeah. Right there with you!

Take some of that much needed time for yourself and your new baby and all that good stuffs.
We will all be here when you get back 😉

Aww congrats on Dylan, Tabitha! He’s so adorable! It’s totally understandable that you’ve been so busy lately with ALL the things! 🙂 And for me lately, the only thing that pushes my blog to the side is wanting to read or binge watch something on Netflix. 🙂

COngratulations! Dylan is totally adorable. He’s a great reason to slow down on the blogging. I am like you though and all of the reasons you noted above have been the cause of blog delays. I unfortunately am not very far ahead when it comes to scheduling posts so if something comes up, I don’t usually have time to blog. I don’t mind though because it’s for fun and I don’t like to put too much pressure on myself. Can’t wait to see more of Dylan!
