That’s a Wrap! – March 2015

April 4, 2015 Monthly Overview 15

That’s a Wrap! – March was a very slow month for me reading wise. My sister and my mother both came to stay with me before my son Dylan was born and essentially were here all month so I wasn’t able to squeeze in much reading. Plus heck my baby was born and I could barely function for a few weeks after that. But thankfully April is looking like things will start to get back to normal somewhat reading wise (slowly though).

Not Yet Read News:

  • My lovely contributor Kat has decided she’ll only be posting on a guest basis as she’s focusing on other things. So Not Yet Read is back to being a one woman show. But we’re cool with that right!? I’m a smidge sad that none of the ladies took to blogging as much as I but hell maintaining or even contributing to a blog is a lot of work as all of you who have blogs well know!

About Me Junk:

  • Update on the pregnancy! Dylan was born in mid March! I have a Friday the 13th baby woohoo. Dylan 2 weeks
  • I barely read anything in March compared to January and February! I’m not stressing it though because hey – mom and sis were visiting and not to mention I had a baby. But you know it’s funny while my sister was visiting she was able to read 3 books and pretty much all I could squeeze in were audio books. So I’m sadly no longer ahead of schedule for my goal to read 200 books in 2015. Hopefully I can get ahead again once the little one isn’t keeping me up all night long anymore.
  • Currently reading: FINN FANCY NECROMANCY by Randy Henderson
  • Currently listening to: HEXED by Kevin Hearne and GOLDEN SON by Pierce Brown
  • Currently crafting: Crochet toys! I have a bunch done (from before I had my baby) – maybe I should post them in an Art it Up! post huh?

This section is really just for my own records to keep track of what books have entered my house during the month whether I bought, borrowed, received for review, unsolicited surprises or was gifted them and the count of whether I was able to get enough review books read to stay caught up.

Review Books/Audio received – 9
Unsolicited books – 14
Gifted, Purchased and Won books – 24
Total books received added to review TBR (does not include unsolicited and gifted/purchased/won books) – 9

Review Books read – 6
Personal books read – 3
Total Books read – 9
Status – 9 – 6 = 3  (Not bad at all I’d say all things considered)

The Boy Who Lost Fairyland

THE BOY WHO LOST FAIRYLAND by Catherynne M. Valente | Tabitha’s Review | Goodreads | Amazon

I feel like this list of books read is so pathetic compared to all that I read in January and February. But hopefully I’ll get back on track in April. So sadly I’m no longer 9-11 books ahead of my reading goal schedule. Now I’m just “on track” – *sigh* Also, this shows just how much I didn’t have my hands free because of the 9 books on this list – 6 of them were audio books

SIX-GUN SNOW WHITE by Catherynne M. Valente (audio)
HALF BAD by Sally Green (audio)
SHADOW SCALE by Rachel Hartman (audio)
TOUCH by Claire North (audio)
RED RISING by Pierce Brown (audio)
THE BOY WHO LOST FAIRYLAND by Catherynne M. Valente (audio)
DEAD HEAT by Patricia Briggs (HC)
KAIBOB UNBOUND by Kevin Hearne (ebook – short story)

Stalk me!

Tabitha (Pabkins)

When I'm in the zone I can flip book pages faster than the eye can see - screaming "More Input!" I'm a book, yarn, & art supply hoarding goblin who loves to draw, make toys and craft all sorts of creepy cute things. My current habit is to listen to audio books while I'm arting it up!

Well you had an awesome March. You might not have read as many books as you like to but 9 is still a very good total and I think having a baby and having your family stay over trumps everything else.
Congratulations again – Dylan is lovely.

OH MY LORD ISN’T HE THE SWEETEST LOOKING BABY EVER!! I needed some picture love. Sorry about the blogging. I felt bad but after a while, I was like…PShht she’s doing everything anyway and now I have a whole new respect for bloggers because you have to have that sort of drive to stick with something like that for sooooo long. Power to you Tab, for being pretty amazing. AND A SUPERMOMMY!

It’s funny, when my mom came to visit to help out with my baby, I found I was just as busy – just with a whole bunch of different things! So I know where you’re coming from. But I’m glad you’re still getting some time to crochet. I’d love to get back into that soon, but that’s just too time consuming for me right now.
