This week’s art/craft
October is one of my favorite months. I’m sure it might be for many of you as well. But this and last year my favorite part of the month has been this drawing/inking challenge hashtag that I discovered last year on instagram. The challenge is to do an ink drawing every day of the month. Last year the quality of my line art increased by leaps and bounds because of this challenge to draw on a daily basis. So now that October has rolled around again – of course I have to participate!
To take the challenge even one step further this year I decided to participate in #DRAWLLOWEEN as well. Its another drawing challenge but instead it is to draw something inspired by the thing for that day. Click here for the list by day. Mab Graves one of my favorite artists created her own hashtag #MABSDRAWLLOWEENCLUB that I’m participating in and I love the idea of seeing new awesome art every day and being motivated by others. If you doodle – join in on the fun!
So if you follow me on instagram or on twitter you’ll see my daily posts for these challenges – I’m sorry if it blows up your feed!!
You can see lots more of my daily doodles over on my instagram! Remember if you decide to participate via Twitter or Instagram please use #ArtitUp so we can all checkout your doodles!
What I binge bought
I am a yarn whore! Seriously I got the most awesome haul of yarn this past week from YARN.COM – they have fabulous yarn selection some of which if you spend enough you get a 20-25% discount on – so of course I had to spend at least $120 so I could get the 25% discount. This picture sucks and doesn’t show how beautiful the actual yarn is but I’ve had terrible light from my windows the past two days so haven’t been able to get a better photo. Yarns pictured: Malabrigo Rastita, Malabrigo Mechita, Noro, Madeline Tosh Merino Light, Araucania Nuble, Celeste and Manos Del Uruguay – Clara and Colinette – all fabulous looking yarns!
This Week’s Crafty AGGRAVATION!
None – other then the fact that I’ve been unable to really finish much – oh wait I spoke too soon. I’ve been working on one specific doll (that I haven’t really shown more then a few people yet) and the feet/shoes are giving me SUCH a hard time. I’ve started and torn down he shoe and foot so many times now that I almost think I”ll never perfect it. Everything on her is done too except the stupid legs/feet/shoe. She’s made
